After spending years of his childhood skating and exploring the local woods on his bike, Jannick saw a video of a friend crashing at a Downhill race. Although seeing crashes is not the most inspiring thing for the average person, it motivated Jannick to try the sport.
He signed in for the Rookies Cup in 2010 and finished that rainy race in 7th position. Motivated by these good results, he continued to race. After two years of trying to get on the podium´s top step, he finally achieved his goal in 2012. He got his first-ever win with not less than crossing the finish line over 15 seconds faster than the current leader on Germany´s roughest track, Bad Wildbad.
Over five years later, he still loves rough tracks and is still on the hunt for the next win. Even though it is difficult in elite category, his motivation is just as strong as ever and he probably spends more time on the bike than anybody else you know.
