Sport has always played an important role in Carina’s life. She started racing bikes at the age of 8. After several years in Cross Country, she made the switch to downhill when she was 18 years old.
“The technical skills, the speed and the fight for every hundredth of a second have always fascinated me. Obviously I was also not the biggest fan of going uphill! I absolutely love being at the races, challenge myself on the tracks (when the track is not challenging me too much anyway) and hang around with the team or other people from the scene. When I am not riding a bike, I am working as an office manager for a coffee company (very practical after a long weekend of racing). I also used to be a part-time student. After I (finally) completed my studies, I now have a lot more time for fun activities and can focus more on racing,” she says.
