Cam started riding bikes as a teenager when he was 13 years old. He is known not only for his skills on the bike, but also for his great sense of humour, a ‘no-nonsense’ attitude and an appreciation for the smaller things in life. His personality always attracts the media – even when he is not acing it on the bike.
Even though Cam has a deep love for the sport, he did not really consider it as a full-time job. He liked BMX and Moto, so found mountain biking to be the perfect fit. However, he started taking riding seriously when he saw the opportunity to help develop the sport.
He has been called the ‘Face of Mountain Biking’ as he is one of the leading riders on the freeride mountain biking scene and has been for years. He has also been featured in a number of mountain bike movies made by some of the top film makers.
He works with Crankworx and is the voice behind the competition, aiming to really be an ambassador for the sport.
He is inspired by watching other sports such as Moto and BMX for trick ideas, as well as snowboarding and skiing for terrain ideas
