I thank God that I had my Leatt Neck Brace on
I hit the tree full speed and it took my front wheel right out from under me sending me flying head first into the ground.I was racing at round 9 of the Mid America Cross Country race at Lincoln Trail Motosports on 10/18/14.
Having lead the first 4 laps I was looking for my second win of the season when I got into a heated battle and passed by a fellow racer. At this time it was the last lap and I was fighting hard to take the position back. I was looking for any alternate line that I could use through the woods to make my move. I had my eye on a nice over grown line through out the race and I knew now was the time to take it so I went for it.
While pushing hard through the brush, little did I know there was a down tree that I could not see. I hit the tree full speed and it took my front wheel right out from under me sending me flying head first into the ground. Upon impact, I slid on the right side of my helmet putting tons of pressure on my neck thus breaking the Leatt Neck Brace. I thank God that I had my Leatt Neck Brace on because I was able to get up, jump back on my bike and bring home a 3rd.
Had I not had the Leatt on, I may have not even gotten off the ground. I am a true believer that no one should ride with out a neck brace.
Thank you Leatt!
