“As I hit the rock, I knew that it was going to end badly”

I misjudged the take-off on a rock at very high speed. Mid-air I came to the conclusion that I either had to push my front wheel down into a rock or fly off the track into a tree. I chose the rock.

Luckily, I was wearing my DBX 3.0 Enduro Helmet.

As I hit the rock, I knew that it was going to end badly.

I dove forward and braced for the impact, but it was not a hard hit on the head as I expected. Instead, it felt like diving into sand. Soft and controlled. My head felt embraced, not hit.

As I rolled over and saw my bike flipping like crazy down the trail, I had to check myself and couldn’t believe how well I had fared. The buckle in the back of the helmet was a bit loose, and my back a little bruised. My front wheel, however, was destroyed.

The turbines in the DBX helmet is something completely different. Making your worst moments a lot safer!
