Teton Gravity Research Rides the Airflex Knee Guards
Teton Gravity Research took the Airflex Knee Guards through a slew of rides in the Tetons for a thorough run through of the pads.
Throughout various rides and terrain, the Airflex Knee Guards stayed in place and were hardly noticeable when pedaling: “They are, literally, the first knee pads I’ve owned that I’ve not had to adjust mid-ride, and are good enough in the set-it-and-forget-it department that I now wear them almost anytime I’m not doing true cross-country, since they’re so easy to deal with, breathable, and minimalistic.”
The featherweight feel of the Airflex pads when worn and during pedaling were a high point for the reviewer: “You really could not notice that you had these on, or feel them as you pedaled.”
The level of impact protection provided by such a minimalist design was a noted high point of the knee pads: “it’s worth noting that they’re the first lightweight pad to be CE certified for EN1621-1 impact protection–a Euro motorcycle standard that basically means these things can take a serious beating and still protect the wearer properly.”
