Martin Zietsman to Race in Hakahana Enduro Championship
The Hakahana Enduro Championship is Gauteng, South Africa’s premier Enduro, mountain biking and trail running event. Set near West Pretoria, the farm used to be a horse farm and is now built around providing a unique riding experience for several events, including the Hakahana Enduro Champs.
Although these events are all family-friendly, the trails are known to be challenging and technical and for this very reason the venue has become known as the ‘home’ of Enduro in the Gauteng region.
The event is taking place this weekend, 12-13 November, and Leatt will be there showcasing some of the fresh 2017 gear.
One of the Leatt family members and professional South African athlete, Martin Zietsman will be competing and will be kitted out in Leatt gloves, 3DF 5.0 Knee Guards and a hydration pack to help push him to the finish line.
Despite experiencing some recent backpain and going through rehabilitation and training with a biokentecist, he is ready for the race.
“I am feeling really good for this race. Having come 2nd in 2015, I am looking to take the win this year. I plan to race the Nissan Trailseeker the weekend afterwards, but am yet to confirm this with the biokineticist. There’s a possibility of me competing at the Dustin Rudman Invitational DH race in Gauteng on the 3rd and 4th of December, as well as the final Dirtopia Enduro the weekend of the 10th of December, so there are still a few races left for me this season,” Martin says.
We are looking forward to seeing his results this weekend and the rest of his season and wish him all the best.
